About the Authors
Dr. Anthony Piparo
Before earning his doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Dr. Piparo spent 15 years working as a golf instructor and high school golf coach. During this time, he learned that superior performance required more than superior physical competence. His doctoral thesis, "Chronic Effects of Fitness and Concentration and Performance on the Golf Putt " earned dissertation of the year honors from the American Psychological Association. Upon graduation, he founded Mind Mastery Institute to develop functional, simple step-by-step approaches to promote perfect harmony between mind and body in athletes from all sports. He has consulted with numerous high school, collegiate, amateur and professional golfers, helping them develop that perfect mind/body union necessary for superior performance.
Dr. Stephen Kaluzne (SKaluzne@WSVisionCenter.com)
As a practicing developmental optometrist, Dr. Kaluzne has spent over 20 years addressing the visual needs of athletes. He is the founder of the Children's Visual Learning Center and the Sports Vision Institute in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. From basic visual correction to visual motor performance training, he has tested and enhanced those visual skills of weekend athletes and seasoned professionals that are critical to success.
With his unique perspective on how the visual system works, Dr. Kaluzne's goal is to raise the threshold of visual performance to the maximum level that an individual's eyes-mind-body is capable of reaching. By accomplishing this, he can help athletes from all sports maximize their potential and gain the competitive edge.
